December 2025
2025 marked an important chapter in United Way of Story County’s journey. Shaped by growth, momentum, and a clear vision for the future, we celebrate the progress that was made in our community. Thanks to the support of our donors, volunteers, and partners, we made meaningful strides in strengthening our community while laying the groundwork for what’s ahead.
This year brought moments that reminded us just how deeply people in Story County care for one another. Our annual food drive once again rallied neighbors to help ensure families had access to over 20,000 pounds of food and other essential household items. We saw that same sense of generosity and community at the 25th Annual Golf Fore Kids tournament that raised over $21,000 for local grants and among the nearly 300 volunteers who showed up for Day of Caring. Different events, same spirit. When people come together with purpose, the impact lasts far beyond a single day.
Our campaign season reflected that same commitment. Across workplaces, organizations, and individual donors, we saw generosity rooted in a shared belief that everyone in Story County deserves stability, opportunity, and support. Every gift, at every level, helps strengthen the programs and partnerships that make this community a place where people can grow and thrive.
Another major step forward was the launch of our 2030 Community Impact Agenda, which sets a clear, community-informed roadmap for where we are headed and how we will continue to focus our efforts in the years ahead. It reflects what we’ve heard from neighbors, partners, and stakeholders about the priorities that matter most—and it positions us to create lasting, measurable change.
We were also proud to open the Frankee Oleson Collaboration Hub, a space intentionally designed to bring people together. More than just a meeting space, the Hub represents our belief that collaboration, courage, and shared purpose are essential to community progress. It’s already buzzing with ideas, conversations, and partnerships, and we can’t wait to see how it continues to be used to spark innovation and connection.
Looking ahead to 2026, we are excited to build upon 2025’s successes like the new Group Volunteering program as well as launch new initiatives like the Board Leadership Training (BLT) program. BLT will prepare and empower the next generation of nonprofit board leaders. Strong organizations depend on informed, engaged leadership, and we’re thrilled to invest in people who are ready to step into that role and help shape the future of our community.
As we close out the year, I want to thank you for being part of this work. Every conversation, contribution, volunteer hour, and partnership moves us closer to a Story County where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. This year showed us what’s possible when we come together—and the year ahead holds even more promise.
United is the way, and the future is bright.
