United Way of Story County announces new Finance Assistant
Olivia Dinsdale joined the United Way of Story County (UWSC) staff on June 7, 2010. Dinsdale will fill the position of Finance Assistant in the 315 Clark Avenue office.     Dinsdale grew up in Reinbeck, Iowa and attends Iowa State University in Ames. She is a senior majoring in Accounting with a special interest in Forensic Accounting. She will graduate from Iowa State University with a Bachelors degree in May 2011.

United Way of Story County offers grant to area schools to attend financial education workshop
United Way of Story County (UWSC) is providing a grant to local school districts throughout Story County to send up to two teachers  to financial education workshops at Iowa State University.           The workshops will assist teachers to prepare for new State of Iowa mandates to teach financial education to middle and high school students. The workshops will be held on Wednesday, July 14 through Friday, July 1

SAUER-DANFOSS AND UNITED WAY OF STORY COUNTY TO HOLD ELEVENTH ANNUAL GOLF FORE KIDS OUTING TO BENEFIT CHILDREN
Golfers across Story County will give their best shot to help local children during the United Wayof Story County (UWSC) and Sauer-Danfoss golf outing, Golf Fore Kids, on Friday, August 20, at the Ames Golf & Country Club.     The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with registration, a complimentary golf clinic hosted by a local pro, and complimentary range balls. The 18-hole, 4-person best shot tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.

Why would someone call 2-1-1 in Story County?  If you were new to the community and needed help finding childcare, 2-1-1 could help. UWSC is working to get the word out about 2-1-1 to Story County residents.  Local nonprofits have submitted information to the call center about services they provide so when residents call 2-1-1, they receive accurate information.
