Nonprofit Management Workshop Series offers ‘Eight Essential Functions of the Board of Directors'

ISU Extension & Outreach is partnering with United Ways of Story and Marshall County to present the 2015 Nonprofit Management Workshop Series. The series includes half-day classes designed for staff in the nonprofit business community. These opportunities are meant to enhance nonprofit knowledge and skills. Nonprofit managers, employees, volunteers and board members are invited to attend.

The October 22nd session, ‘Eight Essential Functions of the Board of Directors’ will be facilitated by Reno Berg, former CEO of Mainstream Living. This is the final session of the four part series.

Together staff and volunteer board members will learn the eight essential functions of the board of directors—from establishing the mission, to raising funds, to leadership development and all of the other functions in between. Reno will have concrete examples of how effective boards work to enhance an organization’s vision.

Doors will open with registration at 8:30 a.m., sessions start at 9 a.m. and run until noon and will be held at the Marshall County Extension office, 2608 South 2nd Street, Marshalltown.
