Jean Kresse

President and CEO


Jean works daily to fulfill the vision and mission of United Way of Story County. She focuses on the community impact areas of Education, Income and Health, working to mobilizing the community to help identify problems and seek solutions to very real human needs. Jean meets with donors to help them fulfill their desire to make a difference in our community through the LIVE UNITED annual campaign and through the endowment. 


Malai Amfahr

Story County Reads Coordinator
Malai works with a network of partners to ensure the framework is in place to ensure all Story County children read and comprehend at or above grade level through the community, families, and schools working together for a collective impact.

Jaclyn Anderzhon

Finance Director
Jaclyn manages financial records, budget, donations, accounting software, personnel and payroll records, office technical systems, and prepares financial reports, taxes, and analyses. She also coordinates filing for FEMA homeless funds and serves on the Coalition for Disaster Recovery.

Shannon Bardole-Foley

Community Impact Director


Shannon supports and advances UWSC’s mission of improving lives by managing the development, implementation and evaluation of a community impact agenda in the focus areas of education, income and health. She obtains information and data from community partners to use in the results-based accountability framework to establish outcome measures and to positively impact leading community indicators.


Jerri Baumeister

Women United Director


Jerri coordinates the Women United Program, putting LIVE UNITED into practice by helping women achieve self-sufficiency and confidence through financial education and mentoring support. In her role, Jerri also coordinates the efforts of more than 30 Leadership donors, 24 mentors, and numerous others who volunteer to give their time and talents to make this program available to women in Story County.

Lina Gurtovoy

Administrative Assistant
Lina is always ready to answer the phone and welcome guests to the UWSC office building. She provides administrative support and office coordination for UWSC and assists with community and partner agency relations and project coordination.

Kim Mack

Marketing Director
Kim coordinates and directs all marketing and communication activities, using United Way brand guidelines. She develops LIVE UNITED campaign materials, assumes responsibilities for public relations, and manages electronic communications. Kim also coordinates Golf Fore Kids, Day of Caring, and other events.

Kristin Pates

Campaign Director


Kristin works with more than 200 volunteers on the LIVE UNITED annual campaign. She and the volunteers aim to inspire people who live and work in Story County to LIVE UNITED through a contribution to the annual campaign. Kristin also helps to lead the drives and engagement of UWSC affinity groups: Leadership donors, Tocqueville Society members, Women United donors and Young Leaders Society members.

Allie Prusa

Database Specialist
After a year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Grade-Level Reading in 2015, Allie was hired to work part-time with the LIVE UNITED annual campaign. Her responsibilities include maintaining campaign records, managing the donor database, creating campaign reports and overseeing the mailings. 

Bryann Sullivan

AmeriCorps VISTA Income Specialist
Bryann works with community partners to identify the unmet needs of low-income families and explore solutions to meet those needs.

Leslie Van Dyke

Women United Assistant Coordinator
After serving as UWSC's Women United intern in 2013 and as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Grade-Level Reading in 2014, Leslie was hired as a part-time staff member assisting with the Women United program. She focuses on program implementation, outcomes management, and volunteer/fundraising support.
