Bryann Sullivan and Kailey Guild Join UWSC's Team

Bryann Sullivan of Des Moines and Kailey Guild of New Hartford have joined United Way of Story County’s (UWSC) team. Both will be involved with programs focusing on UWSC’s mission of improving financial stability for families.

Sullivan has been hired as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) Income Specialist and will work with community partners to identify the unmet needs of low-income families and explore solutions to meet those needs. She began at UWSC on July 31.

Sullivan is a recent graduate from Drake University with Bachelor degrees in Sociology and Advertising. She has volunteered for a variety of community-based initiatives that include an AmeriCorps Public Allies assignment, volunteering at a family shelter, and a leadership role with the Drake University Community Action Board in which she worked to build positive relationships between the university and their neighboring association groups.

Guild has been hired as the Women United Intern. She will assist in the coordination and delivery of services through the Women United program which teaches basic money management practices that are the building blocks to achieving short-term and long-term financial goals.  During her internship she will also be learning about UWSC’s work in general. She began at UWSC on August 7.

Guild is a senior in Human Development and Family Studies at Iowa State University with a major in Child, Adult, and Family Studies. She looks forward to learning more about United Way and the coordination of non-profit services.

“Adding Bryann and Kailey to our team gives us new opportunities to make a positive impact on financial stability for families in Story County. We are thrilled to have them here,” said Jerri Baumeister, Women United Director.
